On the wheel
I started a braid of hilltopcloud fibre in the colourway Robin from her bird’s collection which was from my 2013 secret snowflake swap package. It is a blend of Merino, British Blue Faced Leicester (BFL), Manx Loaghtan, and Yak Down. I am spinning it up as a two ply for a bandana cowl for myself from the Purl Soho blog. It’s so pretty!
I just finished my Thinking of Waves shawl by yellowcosmo which I am calling Solar Waves. I did a beaded picot bind-off using this youtube video and my verna beadle needle. I bought size 8 seed beads from GJ Beads (one of my favourite online and real shops).
I love the way this has turned out with the beads acting like stars.
I have the older version of the verna beadle needle which has less of a hook on it, the newest one, pictured below looks even better.
I discovered the needle when working on my wedding shawl, and used it to add the 3000 beads to it.
On the Needles
I have been working on my Pomme de Pin cardigan again. Finished the second sleeve and it’s sewn together.
I have also just cast on a second handwarmer in my Jillybean yarn A 3-ply in Rainbow Spin colours: mixed british fleece and alpaca, 228 yds. I am working on my own design and hope to write up the pattern.
This was a lot of fun and the first time I could really participate and set some big goals. I received these medals:
The next event I will be attending is Wonderwool. This is my third wonderwool and I am really looking forward to it! This takes place April 26th – 27th at the Royal Welsh Showground Builth Wells.
I have been working on my bread making again and trying to recreate the Whole Foods Golden Age Boule.
My first batch was a little too sour I think so I need to give it a shorter proofing time. I think less whole wheat flour and more water. I like a really wet dough.
My first proportions were:
Country Grain Flour 15%
Gram Flour 7.5%
White Bread Flour 20%

I have been seeing lots of wildlife in the countryside where we are now living. It has been great and I have started a pinterest board with everything I have seen and will keep adding to it when I see new animals. Wildlife at our Home

(26:14) Moment of Drama
A Midsummer Night’s Dream Act 3 scene ii
My mistress with a monster is in love.
Near to her close and consecrated bower,
While she was in her dull and sleeping hour,
A crew of patches, rude mechanicals,
That work for bread upon Athenian stalls,
Were met together to rehearse a play
Intended for great Theseus’ nuptial-day.
The shallowest thick-skin of that barren sort,
Who Pyramus presented, in their sport
Forsook his scene and enter’d in a brake
When I did him at this advantage take,
An ass’s nole I fixed on his head:
Anon his Thisbe must be answered,
And forth my mimic comes. When they him spy,
As wild geese that the creeping fowler eye,
Or russet-pated choughs, many in sort,
Rising and cawing at the gun’s report,
Sever themselves and madly sweep the sky,
So, at his sight, away his fellows fly;
And, at our stamp, here o’er and o’er one falls;
He murder cries and help from Athens calls.
Their sense thus weak, lost with their fears thus strong,
Made senseless things begin to do them wrong;
For briers and thorns at their apparel snatch;
Some sleeves, some hats, from yielders all things catch.
I led them on in this distracted fear,
And left sweet Pyramus translated there:
When in that moment, so it came to pass,
Titania waked and straightway loved an ass.
